We are spending one week in Fiji and one week in Tonga for our September honeymoon.
Does anyone have recommendations for
hotels/resorts in Tonga? We are looking for an upscale, but not stuffy, resort that
has alot of activities nearby, especially
snorkeling.
I appreciate your comments.

Was in Tongo for 3 weeks in Feb 2000. Was a wonderful trip. Beautiful blue waters, best coral I have ever seen, wonderful snorkelling (we didn't need to dive to see great stuff). Chartered a sailboat with Moorings and really got to see all the islands. We spent most of our time in the northern islands of Vava'u and a little time in Tongatapu. In Vava'u we stayed in the Paradise Intl.Hotel in Neiafu - close to town and all the charter agencies, but not what I would classify as a resort. BUT the hotel was nice and very reasonable. I'd save money there and get a sailboat and have some fun.
We are also going to Tonga for our honeymoon. We will be spending our time in the Vava'u group of islands. In doing research I found the newest and seems to be nicest (so far)"resort" is the Mala Island Resort. The resort is on it's own little island. It is about a 25 minute boat ride from the main town. That is the only drawback that I see. The rooms have a/c and hot/cold showers which some resorts do not.
good luck,
d.
