Help with traveling around Australia

Jump to last reply

I'm currently trying to plan a 3-4 week trip to Australia in August, and will be flying into Sydney. We would like to go to the Gold Coast and Great Barrier Reef as well. I know the distances between places is pretty great, and since we have limited time, I am wondering what is the best way to get to Brisbane, Cairns, Port Arthur, etc. from Sydney. I've checked out Virgin Blue and some other discount airlines, but it still seems like its going to be $300-400 per flight, so I was just wondering if there was any sort of more feasible alternative. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
