help with 4-night Tasmania itinerary

Jump to last reply

We fly into Hobart at 11:20am on Sunday 27 December and fly out of Launceston at 10:15am on Thursday 31 December. This gives us a bit less than 4 days on the ground. We need some guidance on how to allocate the days.

A couple questions: Should we stay the first night in Hobart or Port Arthur? Do we have enough time to make it to the Bay of Fires or should we cross over via A3 or A4 instead? Should we try to fit Maria Island into the itinerary?

Plans so far:

Sunday:
arrive Hobart 11:20am
Salamanca Place / Battery Point
overnight Hobart

Monday:
Port Arthur
Tasman National Park
overnight Swansea

Tuesday:
Freycinet Peninsula
Penguin tours
overnight Bicheno

Wednesday:
St Helens
Bay of Fires
overnight Launceston

Thursday:
fly out 10:15am
