Help... Tahiti, Fiji, or Caribbean?

My husband and I are planning to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and have a free week at the Marriott. We are thinking of Fiji, Tahiti, Curacao, Jamaica, St. Croix, St. Thomas, Barbados, or St. Johns. We want beautiful beaches, snorkeling, good food, and at least a little nightlife. Any suggestions?

I don't know where Mariott has properties in Fiji, but I'm guessing only the horribly impersonal high rises outside Nadi. In my opinion you'd be missing out on everything Fiji has to offer. (although you could travel a bit outside of the hotel, it sounds like you really rather be on the beach)

Carribean may well offer better snorkeling, good food could be had at any of the places. Tahiti and Carribean generally have more night life. Beaches are more plentiful in the Carribean but on some of the bigger islands you may not be right on the beach itself. Tahiti you probably will be right on the beach. I would check the various properties and look for one right on the beach in any of the Carribean destinations or Tahiti. Tahiti may be expensive for the other expenses, but don't know if that's a factor. For me not being afraid to drink the water and a more laid back attitude in the SP would make Tahiti a better destination, but if you're on the US east coast, the Carribean is more convenient.

Hope that helps give some of the trade offs.
