Help! I want an off the beaten track honeymoon

I am planning to marry in late May 1999 and would like to have an off the beaten track honeymoon. Both my fiance and I are well traveled and have been to major cities in Europe. We consider ourselves somewhat adventurous and would like to have a honeymoon that is a little different. Romantic countrysides, mountainous regions, ancient castles, scenic coasts all are possible destinations at this point. Do you have any suggestions?

Vikki,
The Seychelle Islands, while somewhat difficult to get to, are one of the beautiful places on earth. Still moderately isolated and uncrowded, a perfect place for a honeymoon. Good luck in your marriage.
I know this is the Asia section and not Europe, but have you considered Italy for your Honeymoon?
I stayed in a little village called Gualdo, in the foothills of the mountains. The nearest coastal town
is Rimini, south of Ancona on the east coast of Italy. It is very rural, but very romantic, with castles, fortress
towns, natural lakes and plenty of good Italian food. If you need any more info, drop me a line. Good luck with your
wedding plans. I have just returned from my honeymoon in Malaysia, so what I wouldn't do to get out of
work and back in the sun right now!!
Regards, Jane
It's been a few years since my own honeymoon (five to be exact) but my dream was realized when my husband whisked me off on a suprise honeymoon to Ecuador. A few day in Quito and then onto an 'adventure cruise' in the Galapogos Islands. There are about 100 people total on the boat (including crew) and you can get a nice little cabin. Do not expect to see Kathie Lee Gifford on this boat. The point of the cruise takes place in daytime hours. You island hop around several uninhabited island to explore wildlife in its natural state. The worlds oldest sea turtle was still alive when we were there. The islands are actually a National Park, so only so many people are admitted each year and only on these boats. This is not some touristy, guided tour. Our guides are conservationists. I don't know if I'm describing this so that it sounds appealing, but it really was a wonderful and adventurous honeymoon. Check it out. if you need more info, send me an e-mail.
AS I LOVE HIMALAYAS, I WOULD SUGGEST YOU 1. LADAKH [LAND OF HIGH PASSES, MOONLAND] REGION IN NORTHEN INDIA - IT IS A PLACE WHERE YOU WOULD TRAVEL FOR THE WHOLE DAY AND WON'T FIND ANYONE EXCEPT THE SKY AND THE MOUNTIANS.

2. TIBET - MOUNT KAILASH, MANSAROVAR - IS A SIMILAR PLACE LIKE LADAKH.

IF YOU NEED ANY OTHER INFORMATION ON THE ABOVE PLACES, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME.

One of the most wonderful & exotic places is the Dusit at Krabi near Phuket in Thailand. The hotel is only accesible by 10 minute boat ride and features 3 spectacular beaches framed with magnificent gigantic limetone outcrops, set within a national marine reserve. The environmentally aware hotel is the essence of style & luxury, with individual 2 storey bungalows- some with their own private jacuzzi's. This place is highly, highly recommended. Prices are about US350 per night.
