Hi Tina,<BR>The island of Tahiti and its surrounding islands are beautiful beyond words. I took a Reniassance cruise last year with my partner and we loved it. It was a great way to see many islands. I would definitely recommend staying on in lets say Moorea for another 4 to 7 days after your cruise, We didnt and wished we had. The scenery and water is amazing. You will want a few extra days. Do it! Dont sell your self short. The boat is great but I think you miss something by not being on those wonderful islands. We are going back in July and cant wait.

Hi Tina,<BR>I haven't been on the ships you've mentioned, but we went on a Renaissance 10-day cruise in June of 2001. It was FANTASTIC! The islands are beautiful, snorkeling was awesome.<BR>The most important advice someone gave us before we went was "do NOT do the bookings of the excursions through the ship!" We followed that advice and were extremely happy that we did. After research using the guidebooks, we used the locals to take us out to motus for snorkeling. it was half the price, sometimes just the 6 of us on a boat - never more than 12 - unlike the 30 to 60 people that take the excursions offered by the cruise ship. <BR>Raiatea and Bora Bora were my favorite for snorkeling. I thought Moorea was pretty, but it was not my favorite.<BR>Regardless, you'll have a great time - it is absolutely beautiful!

Went on the Radisson Paul Gauguin in 99 and going again this Friday. A pure delight. Felt like I was being pampered in true style. After you cruise this line, the others are blah. I highly recommend this cruise and I have a great cruise agent who blew me away with her pricing and guess what she booked us a guarantee on a porthole and we got a balcony. Not bad either with a free excursion and extra shipboard credit. Bora Bora is the best island and you simply have to go to Bloody Mary's. Stay away from the high priced waverunner stuff. Not worth it, but the shark feed was WOW.<BR>Have fun.

Joe and Tina are both right on the money. It's too bad than Ren went out of business as it was a great value (which led to their demise) and a wonderful experience. My clients all loved it. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Radisson - it is a stunning ship and you'll feel like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous - that said, it will of course, spoil you for any lesser cruises in the future!<BR><BR>Windstar is also good, staterooms are a bit small, but some of my clients like the fact that they have "sails" (which aren't really necessary.<BR><BR>Melodie
