GOR and and Grampians

Looking once again to the forum for help with one night accommodations. Have a great trip planned for March, 2013 that includes 11 nights in Tasmania and 8 in/around Melbourne. Here's where I need the help. After spending 4 nights on the GOR (2 in Apollo Bay and 2 in Port Fairy), before returning to Melbourne, we plan on driving north up to the Grampians and then returning to Melbourne via Halls Gap and Ballarat. Has anyone stayed somewhere in between that you can recommend a nice place to stay?
