Does anyone have any knowledge of any of these 4 properties below in Franz Josef---they all basically look similar with similar rating....just reading the descriptions is not helping me decide which is better to stay in for 2 nights for under $100/night (shared bathroom fine)--Thanks

Have you looked on Trip Advisor? I just did a search and found several reviews for all of them.
Glow Worm Cottages is located near where I last stayed at 58 on Cron (which I highly recommend, but it's more than $100 per night) - it's a very good location, you can walk to everything in town from there and the thermal pools are at your doorstep.

Melnq8--yes have looked at all of the reviews on booking.com, hostelworld.com and Trip advisor--they all seem so similar but thought maybe someone out there had stayed on one of them and thought it was good or bad. Thanks for the info on how close it was to town and the thermal pools. You really can't tell things like that from the maps.

The first three are on Cron Street, the last is on the highway, and best as I can tell, it's on the edge of town, so possibly a longer walk to cafes, restaurants and activities.
The first three are all well located, within easy walking distance of town. You need to drive from the village of Franz Josef to reach the glacier anyway, so from a location standpoint, they're all pretty equal, although if it were me, I'd choose Cron Street over the highway, as it'll be quieter (not that the highway is all that busy at night, but it definitely gets more traffic than Cron, which is the next street over).
Good luck with your plans.
