Hi Melanie - Not much close to the airport, but usually plenty of taxis which are often old, unmarked cars with limited effect from shock absorbers! No point trying to "have a quick tour round" at night. Depending on the time of day/night you're there, would only recommend visiting and dining at one of the hotels on Denarau Island [eg Radisson, Sheraton etc.] Best to book, just in case. Alternatively, you may be able to get a day rate at one of those hotels, so you can enjoy their facilities, have a swim etc., freshen up, and be on your way. I know someone with a 15-hr layover in a couple of weeks' time, and she has done that at the Radisson.
