Fiji Luxury Resorts

Jump to last reply

I'm a regular contributor on the Caribbean Forum but am unfamiliar with the South Pacific so I need help.

Spouse and I are active Seniors (68 & 67) and are considering a 10 to 14 day trip to Fiji for late spring or summer 2013. Budget for accommodations is not a major issue but, if possible, we'd like to keep it in the range of $1,000US to $2,500US per night.

We are seeking a secluded luxury resort, preferably adults only or at least one where that is not overrun with children. We like our creature comforts so well appointed rooms are important as are outstanding service and true gourmet food (we are real "foodies"). Husband likes sailing, snorkeling and golf. Wife enjoys spa treatments, reading on the beach, and just relaxing. We both like hiking, deep sea fishing, sightseeing, exploring and and just doing things "together".

We have looked at Yasawa, Lucala, Katafanga, Turtle Island, Yaukuve and Waykaya. There respective websites make all those properties seem "perfect" but when reading reviews it's difficult to tell if some might be better than others.

In the Caribbean, we are quite familiar with luxury properties, having stayed at upscale places like Caneel Bay, Little Dix Bay, Cap Juluca, Sandy Lane, Petit St. Vincent, Palm Island, Carlise Bay and Four Seasons.

If any of you can give some insight to any of the resorts I mentioned (or recommend a different resort) and perhaps compare the Fiji resorts with the Caribbean resorts I listed it would go a long way toward helping us choose which Fiji resort might be best for us.

Thanks for any help and suggestions you may offer.
