I'm afraid that link is very out of date. The ethnic tensions finished 10 years ago and the country has moved on. There are occasional problems, but these are rare and isolated to areas where visitors rarely go.
Australia's Smart Traveller site updates regularly, and will give a more accurate picture here:http://www.smartraveller.gov.au/zw-cgi/view/Advice/Solomon_Islands
They advise only a normal degree of caution.
Dear ozziegiraffe - from your profile it seems you're a new member - Welcome! but just thought I would point out that this thread was written nearly 13 years ago. I'm not quite sure how you came upon it though but it happens from time to time.
