In my search for good hotels and the travel deals in Australia, I found these sites that were pretty good.

australia.com
asiatravel.com (do not know the legitamcy of this site)
wotif.com (again same as above)
citysearch.com
lonelyplanet.com
travelocity.com
and of course this site.

Hope this helps someone. My way of contributing since someone else helped me.
