Bora Bora---Snorkeling AT the resort??

We are planning a February trip to French Polynesia, which will include six days on Bora Bora. We are considering the various resorts that offer over-the-water bungalows. Our favorite activity is snorkeling.

No doubt all the resorts offer snorkel excursions, and we will certainly participate on some. However, on other days we prefer to stay independent, and snorkel a couple times on our own. Therefore, the snorkeling opportunities within a walk and/or swim from our bungalow are very important.

We are trying to choose the resort, partly on the basis of vicinity snorkeling. Any observations about the snorkeling in an area reachable from the bungalows would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
