Beginning Australia plans: Go it alone or help

Jump to last reply

Australia is on our to-do list before we are too old to travel that far, i.e. 2014. We have just begun overseas travel (60's in age). Italy with a tour group, London on our own (we did fine), planning Paris this fall on our own, and not having any problems planning.

But Australia seems different. So big, so many places to see. Want to see Sydney, Melbourne, the wine country, Ayers Rock and the Barrier Reef. Hotels, plane reservations, connections,, etc.

Has anybody used Down Under Endeavours ? They seem to do the heavy lifting while leaving the rest to you. I was really pleased with the responses via email that seemed very specific to our requests.

Of course, also looking at Colette and Tauck.. I don't like the idea of marching off with a group all the time, but there are days on your own, too.

Feeling very conflicted. Can you help??
