Australia/NZ in 24 days: Please check itinerary

Jump to last reply

Hello,

We are a family of 4 with two kids ages 8 and 6. We are planning this itinerary:

Fly into Queenstown from Mumbai
Drive from Queenstown to Auckland: 12 days
Fly from Auckland to Sydney: 4 days in Sydney
Fly from Sydney to Cairns: 4 days in Great Barrier Reef
Carins to Brisbane: 3 days in Brisbane/Gold Coast
Fly out from Brisbane to Mumbai

Please advice. We are thinking about following a similiar route as indiancouple's for the drive through NZ. We might have to omit couple of spots since our itinerary is less by 4 days than theirs.

The main point is we will have two small kids ages 8 and 6.

Please advice.

Greetings! I'm Bruce, Trip Operations Manager for Adventures by Disney, and I've been fortunate to spend some quality time in Australia and gotten to know the country well.

I wanted to mention a couple of family-friendly suggestions for you in Cairns. Consider taking the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to visit Kuranda, which is a small town located in the hills above the Daintree Rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You can combine the cable car ride over the rainforest canopy with a ride on the Kuranda Scenic Railway. Another very cool and fun place to visit is the Tjapukai Aboriginal Center for an enriching experience that features dance, music, history and legends about the 40,000 years of indigenous culture. You can also learn to play notes on a didgeridoo and throw boomerangs and spears. In Kuranda there are several places where you can view and interact with Aussie wildlife such as koalas, tropical birds, butterflies and other astonishing insects.

I hope you have a wonderful trip – it looks like an incredible itinerary!
