Day 8 - fly Launceton to Melbourne.....overnight
Day 9 - rent car......drive to Apollo Bay......spend 2 nights

Day 13 - drive to Port Campbell......overnight

Your addition doesn't work. At least two of your "spend two nights" stops don't account for the second night - see Day 7 and 14.

Personally, I find one night stays worthless as it leaves no time to see the place one has flown/driven to. By the time you check in and get settled, it's time to check out and move on. One night in Freycinet doesn't leave you much time to actually experience the area - there are some lovely walks amongst other things.

I don't like two night stays either, as they only allow one full day to explore and it leaves absolutely no wiggle room for crap weather.

Trying to see three states in so few days means a lot of moving around and not a whole lot of DOING.

Is there a reason you're breaking up your stay in SYD?

Have you considered starting in MELB and ending in SYD or vice versa? Much less disruptive. Hobart is easily reached from MELB.

In love your itinerary. Your only doing one night in Freycinet NP, but if you leave Hobart after breakfast, you can be there by mid-morning, so make the most of it, because the next day you'll have a long drive to Cradle Mountain.

Freycinet is the only item I would quibble with - I would rather drive via Queenstown and Rosebery to Cradle Mountain.

Have a great time!
