4 hour transit in Sydney

Hi there,

I'm flying from Wellington to Adelaide next month and I have a 4 hour transit in Sydney. Will this be enough time to leave the airport? I was hoping to go to Bondi Beach but I don't know if it's worth risking it or not.
Thank you in advance

Well, if you take a taxi after exiting the international terminal, have the driver wait at Bondi Beach while you take a look and a picture, and have him drive you back, this time to the domestic terminal, you could just about make it.

But Bondi Beach is not a very spectacular place, you won't get much more out of it than by going to YouTube and Google Images and other such sites and taking a look at Bondi Beach on your computer screen...

There is nothing much in the vicinity of the airport that would make me want to venture out - just make the transfer from international to domestic terminals (they are about a mile apart) and go through security and wait for your flight.

I too wouldn't chance it - vehicle traffic around the airport can get very congested. It's at least a 30 minute drive each way, or if you're taking public transport it's around 1 hour.

To my mind, it's not worth risking your connecting flight just for that. Di

Last time I transferred terminals in Sydney it took a whole lot longer than I expected. I was flying Air NZ and Virgin, so had a bus voucher, but by the time I found the bus, waited for the bus and got to the international terminal (which I found confusing and poorly signed) I was glad that I had every minute that I did.

I'd just find a nice cafe., settle in with a flat white and people watch.

In my opinion, it's very risky. 4 hours is very short time so you shouldn't taking the risk.
