2 weeks in AUS and destination similar to Port Douglas?

Jump to last reply

Hi! So here is my dilemma. My husband and I have hemmed and hawed over where to travel this summer, and finally have decided on Australia for 2 weeks in June. The problem is, I have have been to Port Douglas and Sydney before (13 years ago!) and he has never been to Australia. He is insistent on going to PD (he wants a beach, relaxation, and to see wildlife). However I really don't want a rehash of what I did last time I went - went to the wildlife habitat, horseback riding in daintree, snorkeled the GBR, etc. Is there another place to do that? Should we just go PD and do everything again? Or is there a place I'm missing that's similar? Also, I want him to see Sydney during our stay since it's such a great city, but what is the suggested amount of time to spend there? To be honest I'm kind of at a loss with planning this trip, so any help is appreciated.
