YMCA Hong Kong Salisbury

We are a family of four (parents and two daughters 18 & 20). After checking the YMCA in Hong Kong it looks like the family suite will only accomodate 2 adults and 2 small childen. The suite says it has a king (or two twins) and a double sofa bed. This would be fine for us but we were wondering if they would allow all four of us in one room. Could we book the family suite or should be book two double rooms?

Thanks for the help.

I did email them using the address on the website and it was returned as an unrecognizable email address.

If anyone has any information it would be appreciated.

Happy New Year!

Usually the email is
[email protected]
was that the one you tried?
See also trip advisor - one review at http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserR...Hong_Kong.html

says
"Our party of 6 adults and 2 children stayed here for 2 nights and 3 days in two suites and our stay was just perfect! Staff was very, very attentive and polite, and the hotel suites were very comfortable. We got one Harbor View Suite and a Family Suite just across from the first one and since these two rooms were at the end of the hall, we felt separated from the rest of the hotel and it was very quiet"

so it does look possible & here is another

"Had four days at the Salisbury after a long trip in the UK, we were travelling with two kids as well and after doing a lot of research into Hong Kong hotels who most wanted us to get two rooms because of the kids, this one had a huge room with lounge and pull out double sofa bed for the boys"

Have a look through trip advisor reviews and that may help.

I would try FAXING the hotel, and including your e-mail so they can respond by e-mail. You may get a better response rate by fax (I generally find this to be the case with hotels).

Fax: 852-2405-0922

You can also call the hotel, for that short a call it's not going to be that expensive

Tel: 852-2736-0922

Personally I believe you can take 2 kids in the room with 2 adults (query whether the 20 year old qualifies as a child), but I agree you should confirm this, esp given the ages of your "kids". The suite is actually 2 rooms.

This website specifies what beds are in each rooms: http://www.channels.nl/55019.html It looks like the Family suite is the only one that will accomodate 4 people, but I also don't understand the "small children" caveat. For the life of me, I don't understand why there are not more hotels in China that accomodate families. We couldn't afford traveling to nice hotels until our kids were teenagers and don't really want to get two rooms but can't really tuck full grown people into something for "small children". Please let us know what you find out. We're booked at the Salisbury in the Harbor Suite in April for the three of us including one teenager, but our 23 year old daughter (lives in Shenzhen) may join us.

You might want to try the email address again. I wrote them a couple of times last week and they responded very quickly.

Lynne, what was the answer? Were you asking about bed configuration?
