We are just finishing up a few days in Xian. My wife had found a TA listing for a guide some time ago so she contacted her.
She responded immediately with perfect written English.
They had a couple of emails back and forth setting up what we wanted to see and do during our time in Xian. She provided both arrival and departure transport as part of our service. Her driver was waiting for us right outside the customs door as we exited with a huge sign with our name on it.
We had selected a van for our time here. It was a normal mini van with a/c and two rows of seats.
Her charges are reasonable and fair and very straight forward.
HER SPOKEN ENGLISH IS QUITE PERFECT, and i don't think we had to ask her to repeat anything.
She also has a good sense of humor. She is 29.
She was more than gracious in allowing me frequent stops as my walking is slow.
Her name is Jane Yang and her e-mail is: hongjuan01yang@163.com
you will be very pleased with her!!

Nice recommendation. Would you mind telling me how much you paid and any conditions? I'll be there next March.
Thanks
In 2007 we went to China. I bought jade and took tours. Loved the XIAN "museum". By the end of our tour, the tour guide seemed to lose her western-smiley facade. It was weird. She was trained in western facial smiling, but returned to not smiling when she was tired at the end of the day. When we got home, we took the jade to the jewelery shop here, and found, we purchased painted glass. Some parts of the trip were wonderful, and some were, well...some were false.
Glad you had a nice time!
we paid her 350 RMB per day, and 1500 RMB for 2 days for driver and van (cheaper for a car)...
i'm not sure this e address is working... need to check at home next month for another address.
