www.airbrokers.com

Has anyone heard of them? I saw their ad in the New York Times. They base in San Francisco. They seem to have really good prices. A bit too good to be true.

airbrokers have been around for years. You have to work with them directly, not thru a TA; they might not take credit cards, so be sure to check, but otherwise, they're consolidators.

They've been around forever and I hear they are quite good. I haven't ever booked with them, but about 15 years ago was working on a round-the-world- trip with them over the phone. I live in L.A. and had considered flying up to S.F. to visit the office, but I changed my travel plans that year. They were around before Ticket Planet...the one that's always in Budget Travel magazine... and I think the founder of Ticket Planet was at Air Brokers.I just got my Travel Guard travel insurance policy in the mail the other day...I'm off to Bangkok... and noticed that under the lists of companies that one can't file a claim against if they go under...that Ticket Planet... was on the list...but Air Brokers wasn't. Interesting. Happy Travels!

I booked a RTW with them last March, worked with Mara. I work in SF, so I went to their office directly to fine tune my flights. Mara sat with me, getting me all non-stops, daytime departures. Later I contacted her to get my seat assignments, she kept me on the line and confirmed each flight segment with me. Then she sent me another e-mail confirming my seats.

They take credit cards, but they offered me a discount if I paid by cash or check.

Thankyou all. The initial quote I got was v. good. The only problem is I am on the east coast and they are in San Francisco. I prefer to do business eye to eye. i should look around here first.
