Will my 19 yr old son be able to check into a Singapore Hotel

hello all
my son will be in Singapore on a stop over on his way to London.
He will be there for 2 nights
He is 19 years old.
I would like to book him a hotel because for the rest of his time away he will be on a tour, so shared accomodation.
This will be a relax and enjoy before you rush through Europe.

If I book a hotel will he be able to check in. I have heard you need to be 21 to do so.

Also if he can, can anyone recommend a good hotel for about $200USD per night.

thanks in advance

He should have his own credit card and make the reservation with it. I can't recall a hotel asking my age in Singapore or anywhere else, even when I looked like a 19-year-old (a long time ago.)

Don't you have to show your passport or Id when checking in? Smeagol is right about the credit card.

I suspect the credit card or a substantial wad of cash to deposit is going to be a requirements, even if the room is pre-paid. Singapore hotels can be a bit lax about checking passports, but they're always strict about making sure they're going to get paid for any incidentals.

For that price, I would suggest the Rendezvous or Grand Park City Hall, although it looks like you could also get the Marriott for under $200 and it's in an excellent location.

thank you all
I was thinking about the Novotel, and emailed them.

He can check in - foreigners need to be 18 yrs and over.

If I prepay his accomodation then it is all fine..

will check the Marriott too.

Marriott Singapore under 200$!?! If you can get it, its fantastic. In my experience, it trades for 20-30% higher than that consistently.

The Novotel also has a fantastic location, so a good choice there if you can get it. For a good value for money option, you can also check the ParkRoyal on Beach Road or the Furama Riverfront.

Marriott was 'showing' a starting rate of US$140 from Agoda, but I know that's not always accurate. Was surprised to see it myself. Worth checking out at least.
