Which volcano trek in Bali?

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are planning a 2-week trip to Bali, leaving in a few weeks. We'd love to split time pretty evenly between mountains and beach. So far, we're thinking we'll hit these spots: Ubud, Munduk, Lobok/GiliT, and end in South Bali to treat ourselves at one of the high-end hotels for a couple days before returning home. (Side question - are we missing anything by skipping out on East Bali? West Bali seems a bit too far - we don't want to spend so much time in transit.)

We've been reading up on Gunung Batur, Batukau, and Agung for the mountain/trek part of the trip, and are having trouble picking one. Batur seems like it's overrun with scammers, so it's not at the top of our list. (Or should it be?) Between the other two, we *may* be favoring Agung. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks a million!
