Which Beach in Koh Samui

We are off to Thailand next March. We think that Koh Samui appears to offer the best beaches. I would like some advice on which beach.
We are a couple in our late forties who enjoy nice surroundings. We recently stayed at the Oberoi in Mauritius which we loved.
Like the idea of a villa with a pool. Advice would be great.

Thank you

IMO there is only one nice beach on Samui, Chaweng beach, but it is also the most crowded. Chaweng has fine white sands while the other beaches have coarse sands or "muddy" sands or muddy bottoms.

The "W" on Samui is nice.

Thank you Hanuman, from my research on the net I thought that Bhoput and Choeng Mon sounded good options.

Choeng Mon is less crowded, sand is OK - Cha Weng is SO SO crowed these days the beaches are rammed. Lammai, is usually a little less developed than Cha weng but has a great beach......

Check out http://crystalbaybeachresort.com at Koh Samui, Soft white sand, enormous granite boulders and backdrop of lush tropical jungle is a truly gorgeous location for this Koh Samui beach resort.

Gosh seems like a difficult choice. Ideally we are looking for a beautiful beach, good resort and not isolated. Would we better thinking about Phuket? We will be flying in from Hong Kong.
Thank you.
