Hello all,
Me and my husband will be in Seoul for 13 hours on our way to Bangkok in July. Can anyone recommend what to do (i.e shopping areas, historical sites, restaurants, or anything worth while)?
We don't want to spend all that time sleeping in the airport. We want to experience what we can in Korea. It will be the first time we went to Asia.
What to do in South Korea with a 13 hour lay-over?

That's a difficult one. The drive into Seoul is both long (over an hour)and expensive via taxi. There are likely to be bus services that are less expensive but take longer than a taxi. You won't have a lot of time to explore, as you will have to go through immigration and customs if you are leaving the airport and you'll also have to be back at the airport for your next flight about 2 hours before the flight to go through immigration and security again.
Don't know what time you arrive but you can catch the 605-1 bus to downtown, get off at Sejong Hotel and around that area, there are plenty to eat, shop and shop. It will cost you USD8 ( around ) takes a pleasant 1 hour drive or less if the traffic is not heavy. then catch the airport bus back to the airport again.
should stay longer, its a nice place..
