What do you recomend for Malaysia; Penang, Melaka, or KL

I plan on flying into SIN, then going to Cambodia's Angor Wat, then to Malaysia.
I would maybe like the sites of KL, but am thinking that beaches, diving, fishing, and renting a motorbike would be better. So the main question is which area and why.
Thanks

For beaches, diving and fishing, I would recommend the east coast especially the Pulau Redang or Perhentians.

KL is just another modern city though I think it is more fun than Singapore as the Malaysians don't pretend they are the sophiscated ones in Asia. Melaka is probably worth a detour for a day or two if you are busing from Singapore to K.L.

To me, Penang is the most interesting place of the three you mentioned. Beaches (though not as good as the east coast), well preserved colonial buildings, friendly people, delicious food(the best local food in Malaysia, IMHO)and inexpensive hotel accommodation. I had an enjoyable week there before flying off to Angkor Wat via Bangkok recently.

I am flying Emirate Air to SIN, then plan to fly to Siem Reap. Dont know with who, figured there would be travel agents on every corner like Thailand, and I would get a ticket there. Then either return in @6 days and take a bus to Malaysia or fly from Siem to somewhere in Malaysia then bus back to SIN for my return flight. Still deciding where to go. Everything is last minute. Leaving in 5 days, for 2 weeks, likely 6 days in Malaysia.
Any idea on the price of the flights from Siem to Sin or Malaysia, general range.
Thanks jk

You can get flight +hotels+transfers for Siem reap from Singapore from all the local agents, Mirt travel has a good online site airfares.com.sg which has cheap fares and also packages. Siem Reap fares are not generally cheap when compared with other regional routes. The Malaysia Airpass might help and then you can easily do also Penang and KL. What time of year? Penang is wet May-Sept.

I'm a Malaysian. Try to check out the fares offered by Air Asia at www.airasia.com for Malaysia domestic flights. I believe they also offering flights to Thailand now. Dirt cheap if you book early. For other good offers can try www.asiatravelmart.com.

I am going there soon, too, flying from Dubai. And I think you should put Taman Negara N'al Park on your itinerary, time permitting.
