I will be going to Tokyo Disneyland on the 6th April. It is on weekday and i assume it will be much less crowded than either on weekend or holiday period which is good for me.

However, i only have a very limited amount of time to spare at Disneyland. I'm following a tour and we are only given a half day time in Disneyland from 11am-5pm.

So, the question is what is the must do and must see things in Disneyland with my half day's time.

I visited Tokyo Disneyland on a Thursday in October last year. It wasn't the school holidays but it was still crowded. The wait for the Splash Mountain was 85 minutes.

If you have not been to any Disneylands before, then I recommend the following to start.

1. Splash Mountain
2. Space Mountain
3. Haunted Mansion
4. Pooh Bear attraction (forgot its name)
5. It's a Small World
6. Pirates of the Caribbean

Go with the flow of the day and join a queue for an attraction you think is interesting.

Also go watch a show or two...I enjoyed the live dance and song show called One Man's Dream II which "recreates the memorable moments of the Disney animated films and cartoons".

Why don't you surf around the Disney website and get a feel of what interest you?

if I am not wrong, Apr 6 is still a school holiday. So, even though it is a weekday, it might still be crowded.

perhaps, when you are inside the park, you aim to get a fastpass first (our 1st choice would be Pooh's Hunny Hunt and Buzz Lightyear astro blaster second) and fill in the time in between with faster moving rides such as It's a small World, Pirates of the Carribean, star tours / space mountain or the river boat ride. You might want to reserve time to queue for pictures with Mickey Mouse at Mickey's House.

Otherwise, you can just walk around the park and take pictures. There'll be several disney characters mingling around, so just grab them to pose with you!

April 6 is still holidays from school. Public schools are beginning the 9th where we live. It will likely be crowded as it is Friday and in spring vacation time.

You will miss the opening as well and will be there during the peak time of day, too. I would head right for Big Thunder Moutain or Splash Mountain right away to get a Fast Pass for one or the other, hoping they aren't already gone for the day...unless you don't like rides with drops. Alternative would be Buzz Lightyear...it's cool. You can skip the Haunted Mansion and the castle, as both are only in Japanese, and without understanding the language you will miss a lot. Pooh's Honey Hunt is hugely popular, but failed to impress me every time I've been on it. It's cute, but...not for me I guess. Tom Sawyer Island is fun and you can stroll around at your leisure. The Enchanted Tiki Room is said to have a very good show...but we've never had the timing right to get into it.

If you can choose Land or Sea, I'd go to Disney Sea, as it is unique to Japan and has some really neat attractions...but if there is no choice, Land is good, just not so unique.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. It really make my life simpler knowing what to go for when i am there rather than wondering around not knowing which is play.

I am actually following a tour to Japan and therefore i can't choose wheater to go Disneyland or DisneySea.
However, i am very anxious to visit Disneyland as i never been to disneyland before. Maybe i'll go DisneySea on my next trip to Japan.

For the show "One Man's Dream II The Magic Lives On" i had check through the disneyland website and found that there are shows at 1230pm, 2.00pm and 4pm. So, which is the best time for me to go where it is less crowded? or it will be always packed with peoples? How much earlier should i be there to make sure i got a seat to watch the show?

Is there only limited amount of FastPass available based on first come first serve?

How many FastPass can we take at a time for different ride?

With my half day time, how many ride do you think i should aim for? (So that i can prioritties my ride)

Fast Pass is limited in number per day, and each person may take only one at a time...unless more than 2? hours have passed since the last one was taken or it is used...then you can get another. Fast Passes are gone for the day in early afternoon even on non-peak days. 6th April is a "normal" day according to the hotel's pages, so I would expect 2 hour lines and Fast Passes to be gone by 2:00 or 3:00, maybe earlier. With 6 hours, you could plan for 4 attractions, and think of it a bonus if you get to more than that, especially since your 6 hours are at the most crowded time of day.

Btw, why no one is mentioning about the Disney's Dreams on Parade 'Moving On'? I thought this is one of the highlight in Disneyland. Is it really spectacular or just so so? and how long will be the parade be?

For the food in Disneyland, how much does it cost for an average lunch? I do not anything fancy or really nice. Just need something to fill my stomach will be fine. Since i heard the food there is very costly.

The parade lasts maybe 30 minutes. We've seen a few parades there, but for me, the waiting beforehand to keep your place so you can see is tedious, so we don't do that anymore and if we see, we see, and if we don't, we don't. I wouldn't plan a day around it unless it is top on your list.

Food inside the parks is reasonable I think when compared with food inside American Disney or Universal Studios. We quite like the Queen of Hearts Restaurant...great rotisserie chicken and salads. For about ¥1000 to ¥1500 per person you can eat well.

of course, you can spend more, but it's not necessary if you are watching the budget.
