Hi,
I have seen conflicting information regarding 3 and 6 month vietnam multi tourist visa. Several of the visa agencies state it is no longer offered since August 2009, however, the San Francisco Vietnam Consultant states that they are offered. Does anyone have any personal experience with this and which is correct? I have no idea who responded from the SF office.
Thanks

I'd trust the SF Consulate. I had an excellent experience with them in getting my (single entry) visa.

I was told only a 3 month was available without a work permit (by someone in Vietnam). However, a friend just received a 6 month multi using Travel Document services. I would apply for the 6 month with the SF Consulate and see what happens.
My understanding is that the 6 month multiple entry visa is no longer available in Vietnam (unsure if you can get one with work permit) but the 3 month is still on offer.
Thank you everyone for your help. I called them directly and I guess they have discontinued the 6mo multi tourist visa. We went with the $150 3mo multi visa.
This is also worth thinking about: If you use a travel agent in Vietnam and apply for visa on arrival, you may save $50. Just suggesstion.
