Vietnam honeymoon, where to go?
Hi there, my wife and I are aiming to head out to vietnam for 2 weeks 1st march and as its our very first time doing any sort of travelling we would like a few pointers please. We hav friends moving out to Ho Chi Minh so will like to see them plus explore the surrounding areas in the first week. 2nd week we would live to experience a bit more of a luxury beach treatment. Any suggestions? Also is it to far to make our way up to halong bay and back again?
Many thanks in advance

Thanks Bisbeee, i guess i forgot to mention we havent really got a massive budget so those places are a tad out of our budget
I guess we are after some advice on where to visit in the south and some nice secluded beaches with a nice beach hut? Ive heard Phu Quoch is nice? any recommendations there? and also is it a bit of a mission going to halong bay and back to the south? ive heard its a must see.
many thanks

Sorry, I mistook your "bit more of a luxury beach treatment" as meaning you were looking for luxury. Here's a few other options that are more affordable.

Phu Quoc is probably your best bet for the sort of beach time you are looking for. Check out http://www.travelfish.org/location/v...hu_quoc_island for ideas on where to go and stay. Other parts of the site have some great info on other places in Vietnam and is especially good if you are not travelling on a big budget. I really would not other going all the way to the north just for Halong Bay, Hanoi maybe, but with only two weeks, best stick to the south where the weather should be good for beach time.

Halong Bay is definitely one of the most beautiful destination of Vietnam and the natural wonders of the World. If you want to go to Halong Bay from Ho Chi Minh city, you will spend at least 2 hours on a flight from HCM to Hanoi and about 3.5 hours on a bus or car from Hanoi to Halong Bay for one way.
There are so many cruises there including luxury, Deluxe or Superior ones for you to choose.
You will go there for 2 weeks 1st March which is late winter and early Spring. Maybe, sea-water is not warm for swimming but you still join in other activities like kayaking there.
The weather in the south is much more suitable for beach time than that in the north because there is no winter in the south of Vietnam.
Hope these information can be useful. Wish you and your wife all the best

hello,
I'm also planning our Honeymoon to Vietnam this Nov, We're also interested in Phu Quoc and Halong bay. Is weather in Phu Quoc available in November?
Do you recommend any luxury cruise on Halong bay, nice for couples? and how much it cost for 2 nights?
Thank you
