VIETNAM HOLIDAY JUST BACK

my friend and self (both in our 60s) have recently arrived back from an enjoyable holiday in Vietnam. (I have been before but she hasn't)

we arrived in Hanoi and stayed at the Hanoi Elegance Hotel. we couldn't fault this place.
loved New Day Restaurant and Puku.
We did a walking food tour around the Old quarter and loved everything.
we also did a 1/2 day with Hanoi Kids and it was a great experience.
Loved the Temple of Litrature.
We pre-booked our pick up from Hanoi airport by Hanoi Airport Taxi http://www.hanoiairporttaxi.org/.

Hoi An was our favorite of the whole holiday. We loved everything about this little town.
we stayed at Ha An hotel which was very nice.
On google we found a great guide called Tommy. We did a day tour to Hue (very long day but very enjoyable) and a Countryside Tour (very enjoyable) Tommy also picked us up and dropped us back to the airport. his contact details are tommyxuanha@gmail.com.
He was very knowledgeable and friendly and speaks perfect English. highly recommended.

HCMC was fairly interesting although we probably liked this place the least. After reading lots of reviews we settled on the foodie tour with XO Motorbike Tours. oh, this was a really super experience. http://xotours.vn/
We stayed at the Grand Hotel and really loved it.

we really enjoyed our holiday and the people and food were really first class. Friendly, helpful and delicious food. we hope to go back again and try some other places.
