Vietnam Airlines

My wife and I and another couple are going to Vietnam for three weeks after Christmas. We want to book flights on Vietnam Airlines but we are unable to get any answer from them by email or phone (631-657-4468). We've been trying for several days and all we get is a recorded message. When we leave a message, no one calls back. Anyone else have this experience?

Why don't you just book online? You can book flights on their website or via Ebookers ( and other websites) or did you specifically want to speak with someone?

We booked all our Vietnam Airlines flights ourselves online.

I booked flights on their website. They had a schedule change a few weeks later and they emailed the change to me. I didn't reply and this week they called to confirm with me about the change. We fly in two days...so hopefully all is ok.

Also...I am in Hanoi, so it might have been easier for them to phone me.

I had the same problem trying to phone their California office so I booked online without talking to them first. Both of the flights that I booked were on fairly new aircraft, all flights were on time, included food service and every seat was booked. The flight attendants provided excellent service too.
I had trouble checking if my flight from Shanghai to Hanoi was on time as their website wan't working; I walked over to their office and was given extra special attention, and they even assigned our seats for us.

We booked our flights on their website with no problem (although seeing charges of 1 million for our four tickets was a bit unnerving - fortunately we had done the currency exchange). We also received e-mails regarding a change in the flight times. Looking forward to our time in Vietnam.
