Vietnam - 10 days
Hi there!
i'm arriving on the 31st of December and have about 10 days.
I'm hearing that Halong Bay may be misty and cold and that Hoi An and Hue could be rainy.
How best do I plan a 10 day trip that include some cycling, maybe kayaking, maybe a nice beach to swim in, and some of the sights? Or going down the mekong river? Not looking for extreme adventure but looking for safe, fun adventure.
I'd like to hike Sapa but sounds like that might be...not a good time in December?
Any ideas pleasE?
Thanks!

Hi
It is not good time for kayaking and swimming in December in the North, Sapa is wet and foggy that time
I think you can go to Nha Trang for beach and going to Mekong Delta, Cu Chi - Cao Dai
Thank you

So should i stick to ho chi minh to Mekong Delta,to Nha Trang for the beaches and up to Hanoi? Should i bother doing the day trip to Halong Bay or no? I'd like to explore some kayaking in the caves there but not sure if i should then accommodate for 2 nights in Halong Bay in January?
i guess i should skip hoi An and Hue?

If you do like kayaking, Halong Bay is the good choice but that time is being cold, Halong day trip is only 30 mins for kayaking and Heavenly Cave visiting, Halong Bay 2 days 1night overnight on the cruise starts from Hanoi with kayaking for 1 hour and Amazing cave for 1 hour visiting.
Some cruise with 2 nights on boat with full day kayaking, but it seems too boring with all day kayak I think
Hoi An and Hue from September to before new year, I think to November, good weather, It is like to the North's weather.
With 10days visiting in Vietnam I think you have to skip some places. If skip Hoi an and Hue you can fly HCM to HN
Thank you

With a mere 10 days you don't have time for most of the places mentioned. And this time of the year will be cold in SaPa and cold and rainy at Halong Bay. I wouldn't want to be kayaking join that weather. Note that it is a very long drive between Hanoi and Halong Bay - a lot of wasted time for your short stay. Choose one or two areas, and spend your time there. Do some research and see what areas attract you most.
You might be happiest in the southern part of the country at that time of year.
