US Citizen Vietnam Visa Help!

I'm a US citizen trying to get a Vietnam visa, and i'm really confused as to what amount I need to make out the money order for the embassy. I have read that the rules have changed, but of course, there's no evidence of anything on their website. And also much to my non surprise, I cannot get a hold of anybody via phone or email, so I have no idea what it is.

Now, I DO NOT want the visa on arrival, and only want the 1 year, multiple entry visa. I've been to Vietnam 3 times before, and each time, I sent the embassy in Washington D.C. $100 with my application. But now, I don't know what I need to send them, and I really don't have much time to waste on getting this done. I've seen figures quoted anywhere from $135 to $220. Could somebody please confirm what the 1 year, multiple entry visa fee is for a US citizen sending his application to the Embassy of Vietnam in Washington D.C. would be?

And please mind that I have no interest in doing this any other way. I just want to know what the fee is when I send it to the embassy. If I continue to receive no response, I may just send them the highest figure i could find, $220, and hope it works, but I also don't want to throw money away if I don't have to.

Thank you so much for your help..

Here is the problem with trying to answer your question: each of the embassies/consulates in the US has different fees. Hopefully, someone here has recently dealt with the embassy in DC recently.

Yes, and i'm only looking to do this through the embassy in Washington D.C. due to having done it through them every time and not wanting to be befallen with any surprises. I still need to get the visa for China after this, and only have 23 days until i'm scheduled to leave and won't rest easy until it's all settled.

I sent them a request for this information to their email on the website and I heard back from them the next day with very clear concise instructions.

https://orders.travisa.com/ConsularF...artner=TA&eac=

On Travisa's website here, it shows a schedule for what it costs, including the variation with the different consulates. It doesn't say when it was updated, however, this appears consistent with what i've been reading. I honestly have no idea if this is legit or not, but at least it's SOMETHING, as opposed to a whole lot of absolutely nothing elsewhere.

I'm leaning toward just sending the embassy in D.C. a $230 money order and hoping for the best. I really can't stand wasting time, and I don't think I can tolerate another day of getting no response from anybody.

ginger, would you mind sharing what the instructions were for the fee? Seems like the nice thing to do.

Ok GOOD NEWS! I got a hold of the guy at the embassy by some miracle. Here's what he said.

The 1 year multiple entries visa is $220 going through the Embassy of Vietnam in Washington D.C.

I asked him what to do since it wasn't a selectable option on the application, and he said to just write that in on the printed application before mailing it out to them.

So, again, $220 for the 1 year, multiple entries visa through the Embassy in Washington D.C. I hope that helps for anybody else struggling with this.

Thank you for those that helped.

Do you plan to actually visit Vietnam multiple times in one year? If not, get the one month single entry visa for $80.

We mailed our applications in, with a check for $80 each and a photo copy only of our passports. Did not send the originals. We sent them by trackable US mail, but for the return we just included a self-addressed stamp envelope. The entire process took one week from the time we mailed till the time we got our loose page visas back
