Updates on Centre Point Silom construction?
All our hotels are booked for our November trip except for Bangkok. I know there's ongoing construction at Centre Point Silom, but I understand a lot of the room construction just started. Has anyone had any recent experiences there?

Stayed at Centre Point last week. Crews were making fast progress on final touches to ground-floor lobby. Only inconveniences were that the entrance to Robinson's department store was closed due to construction, making for a short detour from the boat pier; and that we had an escorted walk thru the lobby construction to the elevators. The Robinson's entrance was reopened before we left.
Loved the spaciousness of the one-bedroom apartments, and the full kitchen and washing machine (directions in Italian). Decent breakfast included, and a pool just long enough to swim laps in.
I assume when Centre Point starts renovating the rooms, work will be done during business hours, when guests are expected to be out working or sightseeing. Have you tried contacting the property about the renovation schedule?

Made an inquiry in March for a 2BR suite for July- Aug & was informed that the 2 BR suites will be worked on during those times. 1 BR suites were available & pointed us to their other properties for the 2 BR suites. Try emailing them or calling them directly, I usually got a reply within 1-2 days.

Thanks! I've emailed them but still waiting for a reply back. When it comes to construction, though, it's always hard to tell how well people will adhere to a timeline so I wanted to see if any travelers had any inside info!

Personally if you want to be sure to avoid construction I'd book elsewhere so you have a fall back if the construstion still isn't done. If you don't book through one of the online hotel sites you can always cancel if centre point silom is your first choice and construction is over. There are so many wonderful options in Bangkok there is no reason to stay in one that is involved in construction.

Gloria, you have a good point! It's too bad--Centre Silom seemed ideal. The rooms are large, the kitchenette/washing machine might come in handy, it's certainly cheap, and it's on the river and at the skytrain station! But, yeah, I'm going to have to figure out if it will be worth tolerating the construction.
