We've read the postings on air passes -- it seems that they change frequently. We are wondering if anyone has up-to-date info on the best and most cost-effective way to get from Singapore or Bangkok to Cambodia (Phnom Penh and Siem Reap) and Malaysia (Penang and Kuala Lumpur).

Is there an airpass that covers Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia? Are we better off buying a couple of different circle trips or round trips to get us around? Any help would be much appreciated!

have you asked singapore or looked on their web site...some asian air carriers have inter asia deals...ask the airline directly

The cheapest way to Siem Reap (from Bangkok) is to get the Bangkok Air Pass coupons. You must buy 3 coupons up to a maxium of 6, each coupon good for one flight. Cost for international flights are $80US, incountry $50US. So a flight BK to SR, SR to PP and PP to BK would be $210 (80+50+80) plus a small service fee. The discount airline Air Asia has good rates from Bangkok to Penang.

Scotters - Thank you for the info on Bangkok Airways. That sounds like our best bet. Can the Air Pass coupons be booked online (their site is down right now) or via travel agents?

Winter Travel - The pass canot be obtained over the internet. It must be purchased either through a travel agent or by contacting a Bangkok Airlines office.

Scotters - Thank you again. One more question for you on the Bangkok Airways Airpass: did you work with a specific travel agency to book yours, or did you have luck reaching a particular phone number to get through to book before you got to Asia? We have not had luck so far....

what exactly do you have on your itinuary so far? where are you flying from and in to.. and do you need too go too Phenom Phen..

your cheepest bet is too use one/combo of many budget airlines in the region.

bkk-penang can be had for $10 one way penang-KL $2.60 one way (yes less the 3 bucks}

BKK-sing gose for less then $100 round trip on a low budget and for 150 you can choose from a big list of world class airlines like finn, cathay, swissair etc.

airasia are and tiger are the two big budget players.

if you want too go too cambodia's capital then using President airlines is the cheepest option bkk-Pnom penh-siem reap

you could build your own cheep cirle trip by using silk air from sien reap too singapore. and a cambo of the above

Winter Travel-I got mine at the Bangkok Air office in Toronto Canada as my son lives in that city. If you go to their website and in the upper right corner you will see contacts. Click and a list of all thrir offices will come up. Just phone, fax or e-mail and they usually are most helpful.

Are there any airpass or the best way to go from bangkok to siem reap to siagon to bangkok? I notice bangkok air doesn't go to siagon. Thanks.

we booked our bangkok airpass to siem reap and back and to koh samui and back
thru the bkk air office in los angeles.
we tried to do it online but you couldnt.
each flight was 100% full so we were lucky to have been our reservations prior to arriving in bkk. (10/04)

If you would of flown malaysia airlines using it's accesAsia pass (USA) you could of gone too all the places you posted and MORE for $1099

NOTE NEW from newark it now stops in stockholm as opposed too dubei were it went for the past couple of years.

Scotters - We got in touch with Bangkok Air via their toll-free number in the States. They were very nice and helpful. The only puzzling thing is that they do not take credit cards and asked us to send a certified check or money order. Were you able to pay with a credit card at the office in Toronto?
