Unforgettable visit to Leh-Ladakh, India

I just returned to my home after a wonderful trip to India. Leh-Ladakh is now one of the best destinations to visit on my list. I had longed to visit Leh-Ladakh since many years but finally managed to get the courage and had saved some money for the trip. And in the next 02 weeks, I had landed at Indira Gandhi International airport. I had booked a tour through www.carrentindia.in and I was pretty satisfied with the communication with them.
First 02 days, i spent in Delhi visiting Old & New Delhi. It was just a rest before i get used to India in my own way. On 03rd Day I took a direct flight to Leh. And then I was there - LEH Airport!!!
I got into my prebooked taxi and went straight to my hotel. It was very beautiful view from my hotel of the city. I took rest for the day and next day I went out to explore the city. From sweet and charming people, to beautiful landscapes, to wonderful food and weather, Ladakh has a life of its own. I was lucky to witness the Ladakh Marathon 2014 where I saw many Ladakhis, local children, adults and many tourists participating in the marathon. It was a nice experience. The next few days I explored monastries and the city. Leh city has so many monastries which you can keep exploring. I had heard a lot about the world's highest motorable road in Leh and so planned my 05th Day to Khardungla Pass. I hired my motorbike and went driving to the dangerous hills towards the highest motorable road of the world. On the way I made many friends, Indian and foreigners who were heading to the same place. It was amazing and once in a life time experience for me. I reached there and took few photographs and was very much satisifed with myself that I did it. I came back to my hotel in the evening. It was last 02 days and I decided to visit Pangong Lake. I stayed there overnight. I never saw such a beautiful sunrise in my 25 years of life. It was beautiful when sun rays fall on the lake and it turns into different colors. I did not want to come back from that beautiful place but had to as my flight to home was next day. I landed Delhi on 09th day and wandered through streets of Delhi. Next morning my taxi dropped me to the airport.
I want to thank all of those who helped me for this trip and recommend everyone to visit Leh-Ladakh once in a lifetime. I also thank www.carrentindia.in for organizing my trip beautifully. I was pretty satisfied with the services!!
Thanks

Ladakh is pretty special. Crosscheck, you might want to check out my report (although it's pretty old) for more on Ladakh; you need to go down toward the end as it was my last stop--my "reward" for making it through July temperatures in India! http://www.fodors.com/community/asia...rip-report.cfm

@ Amy
Ladakh is actually very special place. One of the very few places I would love to go again. I read your report too of 2008. Its quite detailed and I liked it. I read in your comments as well, you did not go to Rajasthan which you should have. Places like Udaipur , Jaipur are must visit. I can imagine how it would have been for you in July and that too in high temperatures!!
