Tropical lurgies - longevity of vaccination for this and that.

Hello all,

Being a disorganised sort of person, I don't have a trustworthy record of when I last had a shot for this or that tropical lurgy.

I've done a quick hunt on the net but clearly I am not using the right search criteria.

So can anyone direct me to a site that lists how long shots for this and that remain effective before you have to get another?

I know it's 10 years for yellow fever, but what about polio, meningitis; typhoid, tetanus, etc.

Is there a one stop shop for this sort of info?

Thx for any help.

www.cdc.gov/travel While this is widely considered to be the best of the travel medicine websites, given your scruples about visiting the US, you may not want to make use of this database. If you opt to use this website, you need to go to prescribing information for each of the vaccines you are interested in.

I understand that Yale University also has an excellent database on vaccines. I do not have the URL readily available for that site.

Thank you, Kathie.

I guess rhkkmk gets terribly upset when people point out that there are other ways to travel.

His blinkered approach (got to be luxe) riles me no end.

Of course, that is the preferred mode for most Forodites, but not all ... not all, so I continue my one-women mission to offer an alternative. Just on the off-chance that it's of interest to one out of a hundred posters.

He seems to take that as a personal threat.

No matter. I'll go my way and he'll go his.

But thx again for your advice - much appreciated.
