Trip with kids. Singapore or Japan ??
Hello,
Kids are 13 and 11 years old. As a family of 4, which of the two is more enjoyable for a 10 day trip in May ?
We like to do some adventure stuff, visit amusement parks, eat out etc etc.
We are pure vegetarians.
Thanks.

Haven't been to Japan, only in the airport changing planes a lot. Have vacationed in Singapore a lot, since the 1990s, and just got back 3 days ago from 6 weeks in S.E. Asia. Don't have kids, but have small nieces and nephew that I'd love to take to Singapore for 7 nights. Below is a link that might help you out a bit.

As for vegetarian, I don't eat meat/poultry/dairy (due to allergy, but occasional butter is fine), but I will eat fish if I'm in the mood and am out traveling. I've eaten like this since 1976.
I am home now and back to vegan for 6 weeks straight to get back on balance. I don't have a problem with food very much in S.E. Asia although one needs to make sure that no fish or chicken stock has been added to some foods if one is vegan. I eat all too well in S.E. Asia in general; on a vegan, vegetarian, and/or fish-included eating plan. I was also macrobiotic through the entire 1980s. I fluctuate.
When you say that you're pure vegetarian, does that mean vegan? There is a large Eastern-Indian community in Singapore where there's also vegetarian food.
While in Singapore, I stayed at both the Four Seasons and the Fairmont Hotel. The Four Seasons has really good food and they have great service to prepare what one can eat.
The Fairmont Hotel is located right above both the City Hall MRT (subway) station and at the same level with the shopping mall that has a huge food court in the basement, along with a supermarket where I've shopped for well over a decade. It's very convenient as the escalator to the Market Place (basement food court) is right to the left of the entrance/exit of the Fairmont Hotel that leads directly into the mall. I ate down there a lot. There's a Subway down there and one can do veggie sandwiches. There's a lot of other choice and on the last morning there, I went to the Korean stand that makes huge, Korean-style sushi rolls and got their veggie one which was quite good and only S$5.00 for 5, big pieces.
I was in Singapore for 7 nights at the end of my long vacation as I fly Singapore Air and like to end there. Now back to sleep as the jet lag has hit again. LOL!
Happy Travels!

You are wanting to compare a city, Singapore, with a whole country, Japan.
You will find plenty to interest all of you in both places, but the two places are very different. I'd suggest you pick up a guidebook on Japan or take a long look at www.japan-guide.com I'm sure you know that there is a Disney park in Japan as well as an anime museum.
If you are averse to eating any kind of fish, you'll need to have someone write that for you in kanji as fish sauce is an often-used condiment in both places.

From a food perspective, Singapore is better since you have plenty of Indian food options. But if you are going to keep yourself to the main cities like Tokyo, Kyoto, etc., then Japan too has a fairly good number of Indian restaurants (that guarantees veggie options).
As for the trip itself, I am slightly inclined to say Japan because you get to see a variety of things over the ten day period. Singapore should be fairly monotonous and although you have enough things to keep yourself busy, it is still not as good as Japan.

Don't wonder anymore and take your kids to Japan. They will love it! Bright colours everywhere, cartoons everywhere, kids staff everywhere, funny sounds everywhere! Its the country of kawai (cute) culture. Even the food can be funny for your kids! Japan without second thought!

Here is a link to a really fun quirky blog, with great explanations and photos, that discusses vegetarian eating in Japan, especially in Kyoto:
http://www.neverendingvoyage.com/veg...uide-to-japan/
Below is also vegan food blog for Kyoto, which has a long history of vegan cuisine:
http://japanvegan.blogspot.com/2015/...-in-kyoto.html
There is also a section on Tokyo vegan restaurants.
I think you will love Japan!
