Hello there Joseph. There are about 3/4 U.S Companies that I know of that run reputable economical tours in India such as Gate 1(gate1travel.com), Smartours (smartours.net), Orientflexipax,(orientflexipax.com) etc.. The differnce in cost is basically found in what Hotels are used, what is included with the tour, how many flights, etc. There are also others that are higher end and more expensive such as Cox and Kings, A&K, Travcoa, Maupintour, etc. Another option is to put a economical tour together on your own, via a local Operator, if you want a private program. This is quite easy to do and can also be quite reasonable. YOu can contact me if you would like some more info on the companies, suggestions on putting together your own program, or whom I reccomend to contact in India. take care, bonnie
You can contact me at pat@asiatranspacific.com or visit our website at www.asiatranspacific.com. We may not be the cheapest but we're not as expensive as A&K either. I just spend 3 weeks in India last December and orginize tours there for individuals and private groups, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
