Tree of Life hotel/resort in Jaipur? Any feedback?

After a long, 3 years without a trip to Asia, I just booked flight to Delhi for the end of September. Just planning to do the the India 101 golden triangle.

Does anyone have any experiences with this place? http://www.treeofliferesorts.com/

It looks lovely, and a private pool villas is only $200 for the end of Sept.
Any comments or Jaipur tips greatly appreciated.

My comment is that it looks nice (but I am really just tagging along for the "Jaipur tips" part).

Looks much nicer than "The most beautiful Marigold Hotel" depicted in the movie of the same name. If you have not seen it, the movie shows life in Jaipur.

Be sure to go to the Gem Palace and ask to see some of the OLD marajaha's gems. I had a wounderful hour there looking at things we never see here. Besides the usual palace, and fort trips, there is a lot of good shopping in Jaipur. Anokhi has a branch there. It is Indian clothing that fits westerners in size and style. Cottons is similar. Worth a trip to both. I did most of my shopping there on both of our trips. Try Niros for lunch or dinner. Reservations might be needed. WE were very disaapointed in Indiana rest. Food was very bland. If you need a guide for a day at the place and fort we know a great one that we have used there both trips.

Bob- thanks for the heads up about the NYC gtg. If I still lived on the east coast, I'd definitely be there.

Karen- thanks for the Jaipur shopping tips. I have been taking notes from our two great India trip reports. Sounds like the shopping is great; I'm excited,

I went to see the Marigold Hotel movie yesterday afternoon. Fun movie. Udaipur looked particularly interesting. Too bad I will have to scratch that from my itinerary.
