Travel Interlink / Bhutan Travel

I'm planning a trip to Bhutan & Nepal this October and it looks like I'll be using the above tour company. They used to be called Travel Interlink, but have recently added the name Bhutan Travel. The principle is a guy named Mukesh.

I have gotten several glowing references, but of course, they came via this agency, so I'd love to know if anyone out there has experience with them that they could share. Good company? Reputable?

All guidance gratefully accepted!

Are they a company based in Bhutan? Since you have to have a company based in Bhutan to make your travel arrangements and arrange guides, it's best to go with a Bhutan agency to begin with. If you use an agency outside of Bhutan, they will have to contract with a Bhutan agency anyway. Better not to add another layer to complicate communication and planning.

Never heard of them, I would suggest you use a local operator, standards do vary alot so it's best to know which local agency you are using. If you buy from a non local agency, they'll just contract your trip to a local agency.

Nepal is a piece of cake. Depending on what you want to see you maybe able to organize teh logistics yourself.

SIS is right, you can do Nepal on your own. Bhutan you aren't allowed to do on your own.

Definately go with an in country operator. It will save you money & you will know who you are dealing with. We did it this way in 2008 & had a great trip. I have never heard of the company you are asking about sorry.
Nepal is easy unless...you are plannning on doing a trek that requires some organization of porters etc!!
Have a great trip. J
