Travel companies in Southeast Asia
While I thought that I could book my flights on my own, I do think that working with travel companies would help us sort out the many flights we have. I have seen reference to Gregg at Innovasion.com, but can't seem to locate his phone number. I have also seen references to buffalotours and air brokers in San Francisco. Please advise as I am having some difficulty with this new site.

Hi roosevelt--I know you'll get plenty of advice--but I wanted to touch base and see if I can help with your search on the site.
I just did an advanced search for "gregg" (being sure to click "search full topic and replies") in the Asia forum and came up with many reports and topics, including this report last month from ekscrunchy who used gregg:
http://www.fodors.com/community/asia...rip-report.cfm
The advanced search is here on the left:

Just wanted to put this out there in case I can help at all.

I used Buffalo Tours for our recent trip to Vietnam and Laos.

Their web site has phone numbers listed on the lower right of the home page.
If you search my screen name bniemand you should be able to find my trip report where I give details about my experience working with Buffalo Tours. I would definitely recommend them.

Roosevelt, I always book my own tickets from Seattle to Bangkok but if I need help with intra-Asia tickets, I use Eddie at the Am Ex agency in Bangkok. This works well if Bangkok is your base in SE Asia. Do note that if you want to use Bangkok Air's discovery pass, you must book it yourself.
You can reach Eddie at [email protected]

Smeagol,
For Eddie to be competitive, price wise that is, you will need to be travelling via BKK. Have you tried Dragonair? I think there are only a few airlines that have non stop flight from HKG to HAN like Dragonair, Cathay Pacific, Vietnam Airways, Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Kong Express Airways.
Fly via BKK and you'll have more choices but Virgin doesn't fly here from London perhaps Qatar Airways?

Thanks Hanuman,
I have checked Dragonair etc and they are more expensive than Vietnam airlines. (am stuck with flying via HKG as we got a reward ticket in UC - which i am very excited about)usually Eva air is a great option from London for us to BKK
I am looking into Viva Macau as their flights from SGN to HKG are VERY cheap so if the schedule allows i will fly back from SGN. Do you know anything about them?
I think i will just swallow the ticket price from HKG to Hanoi (its not horrendous but about £290 one way for both of us) am use to the likes of Bangkok air and Tiger prices
