Alexander:
In February I arrived in Bangkok from Cambodia on my way to Phuket. Since the Bangkok-Phuket flight is domestic, I had to go through Thai immigration, pick up my bag, go through customs and then go to the domestic terminal. You can catch or shuttle or walk the 500 meters to the domestic terminal.
I'm planning on doing the same, enroute to Krabi. How much time did you have between arriving from Cambodia and departing for Phuket?
