Transfers and hotel Hong Kong
Hello, I have a 20hr layover in Hong Kong enroute to Delhi. Looking for a hotel recommendation that is clean and relatively affordable also close to airport. Also is the commute into the city fairly easy. How long to get from airport into the city for a little sight seeing.
Cheers

I don't know of hotels near the airport as I stayed in the city. But, the commute into the city took around 40 minutes, from what I remember. I took a taxi. I was just there in Feb 2017.

There are a couple of hotels right at the airport: The Regal and the Marriott Sky City. I found these by going to booking.com and typing in Hong Kong Airport.
If, however, you want to do some sightseeing, you'll want to stay in the city either on Hong Kong Island or in Kowloon. Again take a look at any go the reputable booking websites. Hotels in Hong Kong are expensive.

We had a long stop in Hong Kong on our way to Phuket, Thailand. I think it makes more sense to stay in the city at night rather than by the airport. It seemed easier to get back to the airport in the morning rather than late at night. We arrived in the late afternoon, took the Airport Express train (30 minutes?) into the Kowloon area of the city (easy peasy), checked into our hotel and hit the streets. Hong Kong is awesome! Such an exciting vibrant city with delicious food smells on every street. We had a nice dinner in town, had drinks and snacks at our hotel overlooking the water, and got a good nights rest and had breakfast before our trip to Thailand/Bali trip.
This is from my itinerary and it all went very smoothly:
Take Airport Express Train to Kowloon Station (approx $11pp), then take free shuttle bus #K3 to a Holiday Inn Golden Mile (stop #1) and walk 4 minutes to our hotel - Walk out to Nathan Rd-turn Right (walk 1 minute), At Mody Rd-turn Right (walk 2-3 minutes), At Hart Rd (Delsey luggage store on corner)-turn Left (walk 1 minute)
Overnight at Hotel Panorama in Kowloon, $230/night
8A Hart Avenue, Tsimshatsui Kowloon, Hong Kong, HK - Phone: 852 3550 0333,
ROOM: Club Harbor View Room, FREE Internet Access, free buffet breakfast, evening cocktails and hors doeuvres
Check-in: 2pm / Check-out: 12pm
