Top 10 of World Heritage Sites in China in 2006
Tourism Research Centre of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences published officially the report concerning the top 10 of the World Heritage Sites in China: The Great Wall(Beijing), the Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area(Sichuan), The Palace Museum or Forbidden City(Beijing), Mount Taishan(Shandong), Summer Palace: an Imperial Garden in Beijing(Beijing), Temple of Heaven: an Imperial Sacrificial Altar in Beijing(Beijing), Mount Emei Scenic Area including Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area(Sichuan), Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace(Tibet), Mount Huangshan(Anhui),Lushan National Park(Jiangxi). http://www.gooberztravel.com

How sad it is to see the Potala listed as a site in China.
China was clever to invade when the eyes of the world were concentrated elsewhere and it's been a fait accompli now for some time.
Still doesn't make it palatable. And those of you who have been to Tibet will know what I mean.

Do you know that most of Yunnan once was also Tibet? No wonder the people there do not look Chinese for the most part (in the north half). But it shows that over time, outsiders will forget. Probably in two more generations (or after the death of the Dalai Lama) people will forget or not care. I care.
