We're off to Laos for 2 weeks July 25, 2010. We already have our freq flyer tickets in/out of Bangkok. Is it too early to be booking air tickets to/fr Laos? If so, when should we start looking? Or, is this something we should wait and do when we are on the ground in Bangkok?
We plan on flying from BKK into Vientiane, then Phonsavahn (Plain of Jars), to Luang Prabang, to Chiang Mai, and back to BKK. Can we buy an airpass if we did not buy tickets to start with? Any info you can share on air passes?
Any and all other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sandy (in Denton)

I don't know of any airpass for Lao Air. Bangkok Air has an airpass, Discovery Pass, that used to include one or two Lao Air flights. But your itinerary doesn't work for this airpass. You'll have several airlines to choose from for BKK to Vientiane, but the other flights (except for Chiang Mai to Bangkok) are all on Lao Air - no others fly those routes.
