Hi all!
I've done my trip report in a link because there are so many pictures integrated into the narrative. I went a few years ago and am just now managing to put all my travels together to share.

It was such an amazing and complicated experience - I hope you will find something interesting in my report.

Another enjoyable report. Looking forward to more.
Yup, great little report. I'm gonna read the whole thing later. I like the simplicity of the whole thing: one picture does, indeed, say a thousand words. Really interesting. So thanks Clare.
Lovely stuff. I'll be checking out some of the other countries later. Do you have contact info for your Lhasa guesthouse?
I corresponded with them and booked directly from their website.
I just did a big internet search which revealed not much more than this sad news: http://treehouse.ofb.net/go/en/place/43152 showing that they closed a few months after my visit. (This is an 'internet' fact so I don't know that we know the Whole story...)
Bummer!
Thanks for checking Clare! That explains why I was having trouble finding them...
Sure, and of course I should have said ..internet 'fact'...we know we have the internet we just don't always know if what we find is a fact!
Lovely--brought back memories! I fully empathize with the phrase "takes your breath away";
did you have altitude issues? (I'd been fine in Cusco, but Lhasa, well, that took a bit to adjust.)
TIbet is really fascinating and beautiful but sad, yes.
Hi Amy - I didn't have altitude issues in Lhasa except on the first day, my first climb up those three flights of steep stairs to my room, wow, I'm glad they had a guy to carry my bag...or in Cusco either for that matter. Gotta love that coca tea. It's a blessing I think not to be prone to altitude sickness (so far anyway knock on wood) because I hear it can be terribly debilitating.
Hi Clarepenn
what a great website you have. I have bookmarked it for future references. thanks for posting.
