Thailand/Singapore/Malaysia in 2 weeks!
My wife and i are planning on traveling from Toronto to Thailand/Singapore/Malaysia for 2 weeks. December 21, 2013 to January 04, 2014.
Looking for ideas, suggestions, recommendations on where to go (or not go), where to stay, what to do, where to eat (or not eat).
Thank you all!

Well, you obviously aren't going to see all of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore in two weeks, so you'll have to make choices. What are you interested in? What attracts you to these places?
You will be traveling at the most expensive time of the year, and many places, especially on the beaches will already be booked full. Still there is plenty to see and do. And all three are great places for foodies.
With that much time, choose not more than four stops, otherwise you'll spend too much time in transit.

Plenty of things to see and do:

The weather will be fine, except on peninsular Malaysia's east coast (and Sarawak as well), which will have the monsoon season at that time.
Regarding the highlights, it all depends on what you like to see and do. Personally I like Singapore, which is a very photogenic place and a very clean SE Asian capital.
Concerning beaches I would head to southern Thailand at this time of the year.
If you are looking for historical sites, these are mostly in Thailand (only Pinang and Melaka in Malaysia).
Sabah (east Malaysia) is quite cool, but a bit out of your way.
For what concerns food, I prefer the food in Thailand.

Singapore is a very safe and clean country, with a lot of good food. Shopping there is very expensive though. Most tourists who go to Singapore go to Sentosa, Marina Bay Sands, Orchard Road, Esplanade, East Coast Park, Clark Quay. You can also try other not so touristy activities like eating Dim Sum and Durian at Geylang, eating at the Hawker Centre at Chinatown and eating at the coffee shops in the neighborhood areas all around the island. Take a walk around Little India and Chinatown too, it is a good experience.
Bangkok is great for shopping. You can check out the weekend market Cha-Tu-Chak and Platinum Mall. They have good and cheap food in Thailand.
Malaysia and Thailand would probably be better options as compared to Singapore if you like the beach.
