this is no reason not to come to thailand and/or krabi.... drugs and drink are the main way of life in krabi. its a party town full of young people from all over the world. many foreign countries do not follow the rule of law that our western countries do. this can and does happen all over the world.
A good reminder that you must exercise caution all over the world. That said, the rate of violent crime in Thailand is dramatically less than in the US, for instance, or Europe.
This is why I never travel to an unknown country alone.
even at home one is constantly at risk... caution is the by-word
probably best to stay under one's bed
Sad news but the accused is only out on bail and will still have to undergo a criminal trail.
Even more sad is when you google "rape news" you will see a lot of it.
