Trip Report Thailand photo gallery and tourist attractions

I want to share with the community tourist information and experience of my trip in Thailand

For my first trip to Thailand I chose a classic itinerary to visit a small part of the north of the Country. In only 8 days I have visited amazing places and know a reality that I imagined a little different and especially enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of Thai people

I visited: Bangkok - Mae Hong Son - Chiang Mai - Sukhothai - Ayutthaya - Phayao - Chiang Rai - Phitsanulok - Si Satchanalai - Phrae - Sing Buri - Chiang Saen - Pai - Tham Lot

Below the itinerary of my trip. If possible I recommend to spend + days to this interesting route, 8 days are few, better to add 3 more days and distributed among Bangkok Chiang Mai Chiang Rai

1° day: After lunch I start the visit of the chaotic megalopolis of Bangkok with a typical long tail boat sailing on the river Chao Phraya and waterways surrounding where part of the population lives in stilt house and the contrast with modern skyscrapers and the 5-star resort of the city center is very strong . Later visit to Temple of Dawn ( Wat Arun ) Finally night tour of the Capital

2° day: visit to the beautiful Royal Palace Bangkok at the Temple of Buddha of Emerald and the Towers of 9 Planets. Short visit to the flower market . In the afternoon visit to the Temple of Golden Buddha ( Wat Traimit ) and Temple of the Reclining Buddha ( Wat Pho ) later visit district of Chinatown . Finally night tour of the Capital

3° day: departure to Sukhothai to visit the Royal Palace Bang Pa-In and the wonderful Historical Park of Ayutthaya after brief visit near Sing Buri the lush natural surroundings. In the afternoon transfer to Phitsanulok to visit the Temple Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Woramahawihan and successively arrival in Sukhothai

4° day: visit to the Historical Park of Sukhothai ( the most significant monuments - Wat Mahathat - Wat Sra Sri - Wat Sri Chum ) then departure to Si Satchanalai to visit the Historical Park with the Temple Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat Chaliang . In the afternoon around Phrae visit to the Temple Wat Phra That Suthon Mongkhon Khiri . Afterwards stop in Phayao and arrival in Chiang Rai

5° day: departure to the Golden Triangle direct to Chiang Saen where the Mekong River forms the border between Thailand and Burma and Laos . Long tail boat tour and brief visit to the market of Don Sao in Laos ( to see photos of the market of Don Sao click https://www.flickr.com/photos/marcodileo/sets/72157647901095843/ ) return to Chiang Rai to visit the White Temple ( Wat Rong Khun ) and the Black House ( Baan Dam ) . Transfer to Chiang Mai to visit on Mount Doi Suthep Temple Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep ; after a night tour in the lively city of Chiang Mai

6° day: long transfer day on mountain roads crossing and sometimes visiting small picturesque villages where life flows very slowly, stop in the small town of Pai and continuing to the limestone caves of Tham Lot . You enter inside the cave with small bamboo rafts then walk to visit some areas with stalagmites and stalactites illuminated with lanterns transported by hand. Later arrival in Mae Hong Son

7° day: departure with long tail boat and arrive in a small village of ethnicity Padong . Return to Mae Hong Son and visit the Temples: Wat Doi Kong Hmu - Wat Chong Kum - Wat Chong Klang . Return flight to Chiang Mai for a city tour

8° day: morning dedicated at Elephant Nature Park far 1 hour's drive from Chiang Mai and in the afternoon flight back to Italy

In conclusion: Thailand surprised me positively . This trip was well above the expectations that I had, I visited only a small part and the Country is full of interesting places , I hope soon to also visit other areas
